Meet Ana Yansi Guzman, LMFT

Trauma Therapist in Costa Mesa, CA

 Virtual Therapy available throughout California

Hi, I'm Ana. I help women heal from childhood emotional abuse, neglect, narcissistic parenting, toxic relationships, PTSD, and other painful life experiences.

Culturally Sensitive

Born and raised in Mexico, I understand firsthand how difficult life experiences, cultural expectations, family dynamics, and major life transitions can affect a person's sense of self, relationships, and emotional well-being. My own experiences inspired a lifelong passion for understanding human behavior, resilience, and the brain's remarkable ability to heal.

I believe healing is possible

Through both personal experience and over 20 years of professional work, I have learned that painful experiences do not have to define our future. Today, I specialize in helping women heal from childhood emotional abuse, neglect, toxic relationships, and other traumatic life experiences. My goal is to help you rebuild self-worth, find your voice, create healthier relationships, and live with greater confidence, peace, and purpose.

Immigration - Psychological Evaluations

As a bilingual (English/Spanish) Hispanic therapist, I provide a warm, culturally sensitive environment where clients feel heard, understood, and supported.

I also specialize in Psychological Immigration Evaluations, including VAWA, U-Visa, T-Visa, Asylum, and Extreme Hardship Waiver cases.

My Philosophy

I believe that everyone has the potential for growth and change, and that therapy can help unlock that potential. I provide a safe and supportive environment where my clients can explore their thoughts and feelings without judgment.

Understand your trauma

Traumatic experiences can lead to Depression and Anxiety

Traumatic experiences can affect you long after the event is over.

Many women struggling with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, panic attacks, or unhealthy relationship patterns don't realize that their emotional pain may be rooted in childhood experiences or other traumatic life events.

Trauma isn't only about what happened to you—it can also be about what didn't happen. Maybe your emotional needs were ignored, you never felt safe, your feelings weren't validated, or you had to grow up too quickly. Over time, these experiences can shape the way you see yourself, trust others, and respond to stress.

The good news is that healing is possible. Through trauma-informed therapy and EMDR, you can begin to understand where these patterns come from, process painful memories, and create healthier relationships with yourself and the people around you.

Your Actions Speak Louder Than Your Voice

You don't have to keep living in survival mode. Trauma therapy and EMDR can help you understand these patterns, heal unresolved experiences, and begin living with greater confidence, peace, and emotional freedom.

  • You learned to put everyone else's needs before your own, so now saying "no" fills you with guilt.
  • You grew up feeling like you were never good enough, so today you constantly criticize yourself.
  • You had to be strong for everyone else, so now asking for help feels impossible.
  • You were criticized as a child, so now you overthink everything you say or do.
  • You learned that love had to be earned, so you work tirelessly to prove your worth.
  • You grew up walking on eggshells, so now you feel anxious even when nothing is wrong.
  • You weren't taught that your feelings mattered, so today you struggle to express your emotions.
  • You experienced unpredictable relationships, so healthy relationships may feel unfamiliar.
  • You fear disappointing others, so you say "yes" even when you're overwhelmed.
  • You spent years taking care of others, yet rarely take care of yourself.
  • You avoid conflict because speaking up never felt safe.
  • You apologize for things that aren't your fault.
  • You replay conversations in your mind, worrying you said something wrong.
  • You constantly worry about what others think of you.
  • You feel responsible for everyone else's happiness.
  • You stay in unhealthy relationships because being alone feels even scarier.
  • You struggle to trust others because the people you trusted once hurt you.
  • You feel exhausted from trying to be everything for everyone.
